A group of members from local BNI networking groups , have handed over a cheque for £1,831 to Sue Ryder Care - Thorpe Hall Hospice.
The money was raised from sponsorship for the group’s efforts at the Human Dog Race organised by the charity in the summer and also from corporate sponsorship for advertisement. The members had to dress up in dog costumes and race half a lap of the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium.
The BNI team comprised of, Graham Robinson from e-Drive East Anglia, Christie Gray from Taken Images, Paul Bianchi from P&S Electrical and Ken Craig from Rawlinsons.Chris Hazelwood from The Utility Warehouse and Thornton Holmes from Orchid Financial Services Ltd, both from the BNI Synergy networking group, also joined the team to make up the numbers and raised an additional £200.00 towards the Human Dog Race total.
Bola Egunjobi, from Chellgrove Ltd, also supported the event by sponsoring the raffle which saw lucky winners winning a whopping £50 each race night.Emma Long, fundraiser at Sue Ryder Care, said “I would like to say thank you to all the members of both BNI groups. It was great to see local companies taking part in our Human Dog Race and the team helped make the event a major success.Local fundraising is hugely important to Sue Ryder Care and Thorpe Hall Hospice.Support such as this really does help us help more.”
Their cheque brings the total raised by the event to over £5,000.
