Shoppers in Knottingley looking for fantastic bargains will be delighted to hear that Sue Ryder Care is opening a new shop in town.
The new Sue Ryder Care shop will open its doors on Saturday 18 October at 11am and it promises to be a treasure trove of bargains – with something for everybody. On this special occasion the Right Worshipful the Mayor of the city of Wakefield Councillor Jacqui Williams and Sue Ryder Care Chairman of Trustees, John Oldham, will celebrate the opening of the new shop by cutting the ribbons and welcoming new customers.
It is a new venture for the charity and the shop will sell a wide array of quality new goods ranging from clothing, books to furniture and a new fantastic line of new products including the popular Hickleton Collector Dolls’ House and miniatures range and a competitively priced range of guitars.
Jo Manning, business manager at Sue Ryder Care, said, “I am sure shoppers will be delighted by the exceptional quality, value and wide range of new goods we will be selling. I hope as many people as possible will join in the fun and come along to celebrate with us the opening of the shop. We have a fantastic selection of new and second hand furniture, new Mark and Spenser dressing gowns at only £7.99 and much more to offer. Refreshments will be available on the day”.
Funds raised through all of Sue Ryder Care’s 360 shops help to support the specialised palliative and neurological care provided at 14 care centres across the UK, for people living with conditions including cancer, Huntington’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and stroke.
Councillor Jacqui Williams said:”I am delighted to support Sue Ryder Care in its mission to provide compassionate and expert care to people living with complex conditions. I am sure the shop will soon become an integral part of the community and I hope that many people will help raise vital funds for the charity by visiting the shop or donating good quality items”.
Jo added, “We are recruiting volunteers to help with everything from sorting and preparing stock to merchandising and sales. And, we are looking for local people to donate good quality clothing, books and bric-a-brac. We are now able to accept donations at the shop prior to the opening on Saturday. By supporting Sue Ryder Care in this way, local people help us to make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of people we care for each year.”
